The Movement Rendez-Vous are somatically-informed dance classes. They encourage a shared exploration of movement’s multiple aspects—somatic, technical, poetic, communal, and playful. Each class begins with gentle, guided warm-ups based on functional anatomy and imagery, creating space for improvisation and creative exploration.

The sessions start with exploring gentle somatic and anatomical imagery and concepts in motion as well as a focus on floor work techniques with plenty of flow and embodiment time. We then build up towards a dynamic groove, creative explorations, and partnering scores inspired by contact improvisation, physical theatre and choreographic composition.

WHO CAN ATTEND?

These sessions, open to all backgrounds & levels, aim to cultivate an experiential understanding of individual anatomy in motion while developing coordination, phrasing, and rhythm to enhance movement flow, three-dimensionality and collective groove. Participants are encouraged to connect creatively through movement and somatic awareness, fostering a deeper understanding of their bodies and shared state of dance.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

A safe and friendly bi-lingual space to engage in improvisation, choreographic phrases, joyful sweating, collective energy and contemplative solo practices, working with touch as a support for body & movement awarness as well as a creative tool for composition.
